Here I am not going to talk about what all types of ultrasound you will face or go through in your pregnancy because about this you can read many pregnancy-related sites. What I really want to discuss one of my friend’s own experiences.
Always believe in your first instinct and gut feeling and follow the same. Normally in ultrasound, our main focus is always on the growth and development of the baby as per trimesters. What we all don’t see or understand is that ultrasounds also provide us the knowledge about our baby/fetus no growth or sometimes issues that are small and unnoticeable. Keep asking your ultrasound doctor about the information she is not telling you because in the regular process they will hear the heartbeat of the baby and show her/his little body party that is forming. Every time I have gone for my ultrasound I have never stopped praying to God for good health and growth of my little baby.
We should believe in our doctors but that does not mean that we stopped our research or restrict our knowledge. Knowledge about anything is very helpful therefore before going to meet your gynecologist for regular checks or ultrasound doctor does your homework. On a small piece of paper, writing pad or diary write down your queries which you want to discuss with the doctors.
Reason Why I am saying this:
I don’t want to scare anyone but yes I want to share one of my friend unfortunate experiences of her first baby. When she was in her last trimester around 8 months, her water broke and they went for immediate operation. While the doctor was operating her they said that baby has already died and due to which some infection in her body has spread and without any delay, they removed the baby otherwise it will to a danger to mother life too. What was unfortunate was that the fetus/baby was underdeveloped, his head was big and other body parts were too small. In normal words the baby was abnormal.
Now the Question Arose:
Why & how this can happen when in her all ultrasound baby growth was doing good and always ultrasound doctor measure the baby head, hear baby heartbeats and also see other development of the baby and give her report to Gynaecologist. In the case of Ultrasound Doctor, they observe some issues with baby growth for which they will tell us for some more tests to be done so that they can be sure about baby health.
According to reputed, the Hospital where she was operated said that the baby has stopped developing from around 6 months. She mentioned to them that she informed her both the doctors earlier that the baby is not kicking and she is not feeling any movements but those idiot doctors do not bother to tell her to go for any further blood test. Her gynecologist doctor said that sometimes few babies start kicking late so please doesn’t worry.
As we all are aware that in the market they are lots of tests that can easily figure out that something is going wrong with baby e.g. double marker test & triple marker test etc. I am not a doctor but there must be lots of other ways that can help her earlier. Therefore, please always believe in your gut feeling and always see the sign going something goes wrong.
Consult many know persons before choosing the Doctors. With the prevailing market conditions; where doctors get degrees by paying a large number of captain fees & growth of medical college without proper labs & facilities, please be very careful. Check the history of doctors & consult some other doctors also in parallel.
