Food Safety is most important during Pregnancy. Many foods contain germs that are not good for the health of the mother and baby. When You’re Pregnant, your ability to fight off infections decreased.

Catching up infections from food is very common during Pregnancy. Food Poisoning is the result of eating food contaminated with bacteria, viruses, parasites, or toxins. Therefore, we suggest you choose and prepare your food fresh to avoid the chances of getting sick.

It has been noticed that many Pregnant Ladies, take their time and search on topics like:-

  • Foods to avoid during pregnancy

But, no one talks about Food Safety during Pregnancy. This is again a very important topic that needs to be discussed. Below are a few important tips for you to follow, please. 

Tips on How to Keep Food Safe 

Food Safety Precautions to take during Pregnancy

  1. Wash Vegetables and Foods under Running Water.
  2. Always wash your hands with water and soap before and after handling the food.
  3. If you are non-vegetarian then you need to be more careful, and wash your hands with warm after touching food, like raw fish, meat, and chicken.
  4. Sanitize your kitchen surface (top) on which you have cut the raw meat, poultry, or fish.
  5. How to Make the Solution is very easy – use a solution of 2 ml (½ tsp) of household bleach in 1 L (4 cups) of water. After sanitizing, change your dishcloth and wash your hands.
  6. Wash your cutting boards and other utensils after every meal.
  7. Always keep the Raw Foods and Vegetables in different bowls.
  8. Before eating any Fruits, make sure you clean them properly.
  9. Eat Fresh Food and avoid eating even 1-day-old food (leftover food).
  10. Don’t overeat any one particular food item.
  11. Don’t reheat the food, again and again, it will upset for the digestive system.
  12. Always closed the lid of the cooked food container.
  13. Avoid Frozen Pack Snacks and other food items.
  14. Check the temperature in your fridge, keep it at 4 °C (40 °F) or below. Maintain the temperature of your deep freezer or chest freezer, and keep it at least -18 °C (0 °F).
  15. Never Eat Half-Cooked Eggs during Pregnancy.
