Say NO to Honey in Baby Food? Have you Ever Wonder Why Doctors and Experts advice not to give Honey to Babies in their First Year. The major reason is due to Botulism Poisoning.

What is Botulism Poisoning?

Botulism is a rare and potentially fatal illness caused by a toxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. And it happens when food containing the toxin is eaten by Infant and bacteria starts developing in the intestines and releases the toxin.

Many times, Experts have Reminded Parents not to include Honey in Baby Food or Diet in any form. But, unfortunately, after giving so many Warnings, some Parents on the name Traditions, give raw Honey to babies through Silver Spoon. Actually, by doing this, as a parent, you are doing your life Biggest Mistake.

Some People use Honey as Home Remedy is treatment Baby Teething Pain and Cough, but they do not understand that Honey should only be given the Babies after they are ONE Year Old.

WHO (Wealth Health Organisation), warned Parents and caregivers not to feed honey to the infants before the age of 1 year.

What is the Right Age of Giving Honey to Babies?

The Right age of introducing Honey to Babies is after they are ONE YEAR OLD (First Birthday), kindly consider it.

Reasons Why Not to Give Honey to Babies in their First Year 

Reason # 1

Clostridium Botulinum Poison (Food Poisoning)

It has been all over the Internet, that Honey can contain spores of a bacterium called Clostridium botulinum, which can cause Baby’s Immature Digestive System. Therefore, avoid giving Honey to Babies till they are One Year Old so that nothing can affect your Baby Health.

Reason # 2

Infant Botulism

It’s rare but very serious Gastrointestinal Condition which caused due to exposure of Clostridium Botulinum spares. It can affect your Baby’s Intestines and produce a dangerous toxin.

Infant Botulism normally occurs mostly in infants under the age of 6 months. Some of the symptoms of Clostridium Botulinum are Constipation, Drooling, Irritability, and Problem in sucking the mother nipples and taking the feed, etc. Be aware that Babies under the age of 12 months are more prone to get effect; therefore it’s better to take precautions.

Reason # 3

Can Damage Baby Emerging Teeth

Very Few parents know that introducing Honey or Sugar to babies before their First Birthday will affect Baby Immature Digestive System. There is no need to give Honey or Sugar to babies before they turn One Year Old, as they can easily survive without Honey.
